Despite hailing from the black metal hotbed of early 90s Norway, the appearance of Gehenna’s 1993 demo Black Seared Heart took many by surprise. Dark and aggressive, but dripping with atmosphere and class, the recording steered away from the murky, violent, and fast-paced territories the band’s peers were exploring in their early recordings. Instead Black Seared Heart showcases a collection of melancholic and surprisingly considered compositions that highlighted melody above all, through a combination of memorable riffs, professional production, and some of the heaviest use of synths then seen in black metal.

As an added bonus the rerelease of Black Seared Heart comes with an instrumental, a song recorded at the rehearsal-room and most importantly a  studio recording-session that was aborted before completion that was supposed to result in the band`s first EP First Spell.

The songs were completely new remastered by Patrick W. Engel at the Temple of Disharmony to ensure the best possible sound.

This release will include a huge 20 page 12” booklet including an in-depth interview (divided into 4 parts, this is part 1) with all 5 original bandmembers and many never seen before pictures.
