Featuring Nagash of Troll and Dimmu Borgir fame, Covenant remain one of the 90s most loved symphonic black metal bands. For this, their second album, originally released in 1998, the band expanded to feature Astennu (Dimmu Borgir), Sverd (Arcturus), Sarah Jezebel Deva (Cradle of Filth) and Hellhammer (Mayhem). With such a line-up, it's perhaps unsurprising that this album is many people's favourite by the band.
With a much bigger sound than the debut, this is a melodic, astral, punchy, multi-layered late 90s symphonic black metal with obvious comparisons to late 90s Dimmu and touches of Arcturus. Not for the purists obviously!
