Legendary cult death metal act formed in 1989 in the Finnish town of Pietarsaari, Festerday originally planned to call themselves Mortuary, but settled for a name taken from the first Carcass album, Reek of Putrefaction, a choice that says much about their character. Short-lived in their original incarnation, many of the band's members went on to form black metal band ....and Oceans.
